Sermon 2/1/2023      Time

Colossians 1:25-27  Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the Word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory;

   Our time was made by God and belongs to God. When He created earth time began. The earth goes around the sun in 1 year. “When the fullness of time came" Jesus was born.  When we look at what’s happening in the world it’s a mess in the natural realm but God’s plan is still working. God is always working on His timetable. He gives time and more time for repentance because He is merciful. We ask why hasn’t He done it already? His ways are not our ways.

   We think it’s in our own hands, our time and our wealth. Apart from Him you have nothing and can do nothing. There is no talent that you have, car, house, furniture that hasn’t come from the hand of God. Time is what He grants us and there’s a time for everything. But what we do with the time is up to us. Time belongs to God.

   Don’t be ignorant of the enemies devices. The enemy can steal your time with devices. We are to be good stewards of all God has given us. Are we using our time wisely?

Colossians 4:5 says we should walk in wisdom toward unbelievers. Make wise and sacred use of time. Ask yourself, Is this opportunity going to have eternal value? Does it hold spiritual growth? Is my time self centered? take time to spread the gospel.

   Do you waste time holding onto the past or a hurt from the past? It troubles our mind and gives us an unsettled heart. If you’re living in the past you’re missing the present. God wants us to live in the present in His presence. Forgive. Ask God to heal the hurt. God paid for peace in our life. Pray and ask Him for peace and let go of the past. Stop wasting time. God owns your time. This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! If He made it, it is good. Make the most of your time. We’re made to worship and glorify Him. Seek God, rejoice in Him. Be filled with the Spirit making melody in your hearts to the Lord.
